Acceptable Use of Library Computers and Wi-Fi Services

Welcome to Imagine IT Virtual Library Computers and Wi-Fi Services

Access to our library computers and the use of internet and technology services are provided free by Imagine IT Virtual Library. All patrons must follow these explicitly Terms and Conditions of Use to ensure the highest degree of safety, respect, and repair is maintained in the service.

When using Imagine IT Virtual Library services, please remain courteous of other users. Respect that there are several members of the community who depend on this service. Please avoid downloading or uploading large files and streaming videos during peak periods. Please be aware that bandwidth is limited. Abuse of these services may result in the termination of your access.

Internet and Online Service Terms and Conditions of Use

Use of these services are subject to the full conditions of use included in the library membership services agreement. Terms that relate specifically to the computer and wifi services involve the following conditions:

i) Users must not transmit, obtain, advertise, or request objectionable material, including but not limited to material of an illegal or explicit nature.

ii) Users must not make available to a minor material that is objectionable or restricted by age.

iii) The Library's services may incorporate specific filters or systems that block specific websites. Users agree not to circumvent these protections.

iv) Imagine IT Virtual Library cannot guarantee the security or confidentiality of information which may be entered into or submitted via our computer networks or systems. Users are responsible for ensuring the security of their own information and identification.

v) Imagine IT Virtual Library is not responsible for the accuracy or timeliness of information obtained through online services or via our computers. While we work to maintain up-to-date references, Users are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of any data and acting only within accordance of their own certainty. Seek expert advice where appropriate.

vi) Imagine IT Virtual Library does not guarantee ongoing service and may be subject to breaks in service resulting from technical problems outside of our control. While we work to provide access the Library assumes no responsibility for any loss that may result from interruption to services.

vii) Users are responsible for their own technological connections and the use and access of this service from their own equipment or devices. While staff will attempt to assist in simple enquiries and requests for help staff are not required to provide that assistance when it relates to devices not owned by the library.

viii) The Library cannot guarantee extensions to a booking period. If extended sessions are required, please plan in advance and take advantage of off-peak periods. Remember to show courtesy to other members who may need access to these services.

ix) Users must not use this service to breach any laws or restrictions of any country, not limited to and including copyright protections and authorised usage. A copyright holder or business owner is entitled to take legal action to protect their interests in intellectual property. Unless otherwise permitted by relevant acts, unauthorised copying or printing may infringe rights. All users are responsible for being aware of these laws. Imagine IT Virtual Library assumes no responsibility with regard to those actions and users are 100% liable for all actions brought against individual instances of abuse or breach of law.

x) Breaking these conditions may lead to access restriction, membership suspension or termination, or removal from premises as per the discretion of the Library Management Staff.
